As we see an increasing number of patients presenting with complex menopause symptoms, we have taken steps to enhance our services in this area.
We are pleased to announce a more formalised approach to our consultant-led menopause service, now comprising a team of seven consultant gynaecologists and specialist GPs running clinics across two of our sites: Holmhurst Medical Centre in Redhill and Oxted Health Centre.
Our patients benefit from access to outpatient diagnostic procedures and specialist treatments for a variety of complex perimenopause and menopause symptoms. All our clinicians are either members of the British Menopause Society (BMS) or are supported by BMS specialist GPs. To learn more about our menopause specialist and their credentials, you can view their profiles by filtering on ‘Menopause’ here.
We are delighted with the positive feedback we have received from patients so far:
“The lady I saw was very professional and at the same time made my diagnosis very easy to understand. The treatment was backed up by a helpful fact sheet. I was reassured that this treatment should be successful but that I would also be sent a follow up appointment in 3 months.”
Stephie Webber, Outpatients Service Manager, commenting on this improved service:
“Our menopause service has seen a significant increase in patient referrals, reflecting the growing awareness and need for specialised care in this area. We’re proud to offer a comprehensive approach to menopause management that truly supports our patients.”
If you are experiencing complex perimenopause or menopause symptoms, please consult your GP first. If they feel you would benefit from our specialist service, they can refer you to DHC Outpatients.
For those whose symptoms feel more manageable or would like to explore other options, we offer a regular 6-week online group course on ‘Navigating and coping with menopause’ through our NHS Talking Therapies service. Learn more here (link to DHC Talking Therapies website).
