As a provider of NHS care, DHC is required to prepare an annual Quality Account for submission to NHS Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care Board (ICB), which is responsible for planning and commissioning health services for our local population.
Our Quality Account is a report that provides information about the quality of services we deliver to patients and how we have worked to improve these. The quality of services is measured by looking at patient safety, the effectiveness of patient care and patient feedback. DHC aims to continually improve and innovate through an enhanced governance framework and rigorous monitoring of our processes and the experience of patients across all our services.
We are very pleased that our latest Quality Account has been approved by Surrey Heartlands ICB. We would like to thank all our staff, clinical teams and GP practices for pulling together to achieve such high standards of patient care in a challenging period for the NHS; the results of their dedication and hard work are reflected in the results within the report.
Extracts from the Commissioner Statement, NHS Surrey Heartlands ICB:
“The ICB commends Dorking Health Care on many areas of improvement and transformation in 2023/24. The ICB recognises the investment which has been put into transforming Pond Tail Surgery, into a practice which provides safe and effective care, with all clinical and non-clinical roles now filled.”
The ICB also recognised that DHC has achieved some very positive milestones, including:
- Increasing the total number of outpatient referrals to an average of 1,563 per month.
- Recruiting an additional 29 clinicians across 13 specialities, including consultants, a women’s health physiotherapist, a cardiac physiologist, and a urology nurse.
- The roll-out of the GP Integrated Mental Health Service (GPimhs), which is now running successfully in all PCNs and in Dorking.
