DHC Outpatients Survey 2025

Another Year of Positive Patient Feedback

We’re pleased to share the excellent results from our annual DHC Outpatients survey, and once again, feel encouraged to see such positive feedback from patients.

As with last year’s survey, we continue to see improvements in many areas and feel proud that our service is going from strength to strength.

This year, with the launch of two new outpatient facilities – Epsom Old Cottage Hospital and Elizabeth House Medical Practice in Warlingham – we’ve expanded our reach while maintaining the same high standards of care. Our approach continues to focus on bringing planned care out of large hospitals and into local, accessible neighbourhood health centres. And patient feedback shows we’re getting it right.

“The service received, apart from being excellent, is local. Whilst I do not have any transport issues, this NHS service is a boon to local people who may have difficulties with transport. It also feels more of an intimate, community arrangement rather than the ‘cold’ experience of a large hospital where staff always seem in a rush. Long may it remain!”

Survey highlights:

  • Nearly 100% of patients felt listened to – consistent with last year.
  • 99% of patients said they were treated with respect and dignity – also unchanged.
  • 95% of patients felt their clinician was aware of their medical history – with a 7% increase in those saying ‘definitely’.
  • 99% of patients felt their treatment was explained – up 2% in those who felt it was ‘definitely’ explained.
  • 100% of patients reported that DHC Outpatients felt clean – up from 99% last year.
  • 96% of patients would recommend DHC Outpatients to friends and family – with more patients now saying ‘extremely likely’.

“I have had three appointments since my initial consultation with the doctor and all of the staff were very helpful, informative and kind. The hospital seems to be extremely efficient and my waiting times were minimal. I would definitely recommend DHC to friends and family.”

“I have been coming to DHC for about 4 years, mainly for dermatology and more recently to get a mole removed. It is by far the best medical practice with the friendliest medical professionals I have ever experienced. From receptionists to doctors, people are welcoming, friendly and supportive.”

“The specialist was excellent and very reassuring. She explained everything and made sure I understood why I was undertaking each test. Within a few minutes of starting my appointment I felt comfortable and relaxed. My whole experience of DHC was very positive, including my contact with reception.”

We’re delighted that patients continue to value our service and the convenient locations closer to home. These results speak volumes about the dedication of our outpatient teams who deliver compassionate, high-quality care every day.

A huge thank you to the 559 patients who took the time to share their experiences. Your feedback is instrumental in helping us continue to improve and innovate.
