As a provider of NHS healthcare, DHC is required to prepare an annual Quality Account for submission to NHS Surrey and Sussex Integrated Care Board (ICB), which is responsible for planning and commissioning health services for our local population.
Our Quality Account provides an overview of the quality of care we deliver across all our services and the improvements made during the 2025–26 financial year (April 2025 to March 2026). It assesses performance across key areas including patient safety, clinical effectiveness and patient experience.
We are pleased to announce that our latest Quality Account has been approved by NHS Surrey and Sussex ICB. We would like to thank our staff, clinical teams and GP practices for their continued dedication and hard work in delivering high-quality care during a period of organisational growth and system-wide challenges. Their efforts have contributed to the strong results highlighted throughout this report.
Extract from the Commissioner Statement, NHS Surrey and Sussex ICB:
“The account reflects Dorking Healthcare’s continued development as a GP Federation and integrated provider, demonstrating a clear commitment to delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care across primary, community, outpatient and mental health services.”
The ICB highlighted several significant achievements, including:
- Neighbourhood working: Continued progress in developing Primary Care Networks and delivering neighbourhood-based care initiatives, supporting system priorities and helping reduce health inequalities.
- Access to care: A significant contribution to improving access through expanded outpatient capacity, enhanced diagnostic services and increased local service provision, while proactively supporting the wider healthcare system.
- Patient experience: Consistently high levels of patient satisfaction across multiple services and feedback channels, coupled with a clear commitment to patient feedback and engagement.
- Patient safety: No incidents resulting in moderate or severe harm, alongside a strengthened learning culture supported by integrated review processes
- Clinical effectiveness: A well‑embedded and increasingly mature audit framework, demonstrating a proactive approach to quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Organisational culture: Staff survey results highlighted a positive working environment, with 90% of staff recommending DHC as a place for treatment. The survey also demonstrated strong staff engagement, effective line management and a strengthening safety culture.
We’re looking forward to continuing to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care for our local population, while further embedding neighbourhood working across our services. We remain committed to collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement in everything we do.
